Basic structure of coal-fired boilers

Jul 29, 2024

1, Boiler body

The boiler body of a coal-fired boiler consists of a furnace, combustion chamber, plasma furnace, superheater, reheater, and air preheater. Among them, the furnace is the place where coal is burned, the combustion chamber is used for re combustion and removal of exhaust gas after combustion, the plasma furnace is mainly used to remove dust and particulate matter from the flue gas, and the role of the superheater and reheater is to improve thermal efficiency.

2, Combustion system

The combustion system of coal-fired boilers mainly consists of combustion equipment and fuel supply system. Combustion equipment includes burners, bellows, dampers, combustion chambers, nozzles, and other parts. The fuel supply system sends coal powder or coal chunks into the burner for combustion through conveying equipment.

3, Water supply system

The feedwater system of coal-fired boilers mainly consists of water treatment equipment, feedwater pumps, preheaters, deaerators, etc. Water treatment equipment is used to remove ion impurities and sterilize water, while preheaters are used to increase water temperature and thermal efficiency. The function of a deaerator is to remove oxygen from water to prevent corrosion inside the boiler.

4, Soda water separator

The steam water separator is mainly used to separate steam and water to ensure the quality and safety of steam. It is usually installed at the outlet of the superheater and reheater, and achieves steam water separation through geometric structure and fluid dynamics principles.

5, Smoke purifier

Smoke purifiers are mainly used to remove harmful substances such as particles, oxides, and sulfur dioxide from flue gas, reducing air pollution. There are various types of purifiers, including electrostatic precipitators, bag filters, and wet flue gas desulfurization equipment.

Overall, the basic structure of coal-fired boilers is quite complex, requiring various parts to work together in order to maximize thermal efficiency and effectiveness. Corresponding learning and training are also required for the use and maintenance of boilers.
